BRYAN BOAZ

CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Bryan is County Line Rail’s Chief Commercial Officer, where is responsible for leading the company’s growth strategy, overseeing sales, marketing, across its freight, transload, and storage network.  He relentlessly drives commercial execution by aligning new business development opportunities both for new and existing rail assets creating value for both the company and the customer.

Prior to working at County Line Rail Bryan as a key asset for the ExxonMobil Supply Chain organization’s rail group. During his tenure he led the ExxonMobil rail team’s Gulf Coast Rail Operations, key Canadian Asset Operations, was responsible for all third-party terminals, and oversight for over 100 agreements for railcar switching, storage, and transloading across North America.  Bryan also ran best in class rail operations for ExxonMobil throughout his time ExxonMobil by utilizing his vast railroad network knowledge to preemptively re-route shipments to customers during a multitude of mainline line service issues; most notably a multitude of hurricanes, lengthy mainline outages, labor shortages, and the COVID-19 pandemic.  Due to his foresight ExxonMobil experienced unforeseen and abundant success across multiple commodities they provide to North America at a time where ExxonMobil’s competitors faced significant challenges to move their carloads from origin to destination.

Prior to joining ExxonMobil, Bryan worked for Enbridge Energy in both commercial and operational roles involving crude by rail and NGLs later transitioning to merchant storage where he oversaw Enbridge’s merchant tank storage in the United States (18+ million barrels).

Over the course of his professional career, he spent a brief period at Railserve (industrial switcher) as Director of Business Development and most notably for those in the railroad industry he occupied several positions within the Kansas City Southern Railroad (KCS).  Bryan started as a conductor, rose quickly through the operational ranks as a Trainmaster at multiple locations, with his final position with KCS as Director of International Business Development.  He spent four years at KCS directly reporting to the C Suite of the railroad including working on multiple initiatives directly for Executive Chairman Mike Haverty.  Bryan is credited with much of the KCS transportation department’s execution to complete rebuild and service launch of the Rosenberg Subdivision.  He also spent significant time working across Mexico developing several of the largest of the KCSM’s commercial initiatives and successes.

Bryan has achieved great success at each of the companies at he worked for over the course of his career leaving each one much stronger and healthier than when his positions began.

In 2023 Bryan was appointed to the U.S. Surface Transportation Board’s (STB) RETAC Committee in 2023 by Chairman Martin Oberman.  Bryan also served on the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) Rail Subcommittee for over 10 years until his departure from ExxonMobil.  He was the chair for the last three years.

Bryan is widely considered across both the railroad and rail shipper community as a subject matter expert in rail strategy, commercial activity, operations, and has a deep understanding of the North American rail network.  In talking about his railroad background Bryan often says that he learned how to run a locomotive before he learned how to drive a car, which is true.  He is a multi-generational railroader with his family having previously worked as primarily Engineers and Conductors for Cotton Belt, Santa Fe, and the L&N.

Before his railroad career formally began, Bryan worked two years for The White House on the Travel Office Advance Team during the first term of President George W. Bush.  Bryan received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.  Bryan and his wife Alexis reside in Tomball, TX.  They have two children: Cooper- 14 and Abby- 11.  When not railroading, Bryan is a very involved Dad’s with his kids love of dance, cheer, soccer, and music.  He and his family are active volunteers at their church where several times a year he plays percussion.
