RON SMITH
SRN Maintenance Superintendent
Ron has 25 years of railroad experience. He began his railroad career in 2000 with TGS/Econo-Rail as brakeman/conductor. In 2002, he began work for the Sabine River & Northern R.R. as a conductor. He spent 4 years as a conductor before moving into the Maintenance of Way department where he was awarded the position of MOW foreman/ track inspector. In 2010, Ron assumed the role of Maintenance Superintendent, a role he currently retains. As such, he is responsible for all non-train operation areas of the railroad including locomotive maintenance and repair, bridge program, track structures, fleet maintenance and project management.

Ron is certified in CFR 49, Part 213 Track Standards and is also a certified Conductor and Engineer (DSLE).
